Recipients of "Trillium Merit Award" Febraury 2005.
Dean & Ethel started Modern Western Square Dancing with the Blue Mountain Promenaders in Collingwood, Ontario and are presently the Caller-Cuer-Instructors for three clubs in the Georgian Bay area.
In 1988 they wrote the choreography for the Round Dance “I Don’t Care”. Since then they have added others to their collection: - “Hole In My Pocket” (presently on the Roundalab Classic list). “Chasin That Neon Rainbow” – “Livin On Love” – “If The World Had A Front Porch” - & - “Wine Colored Roses”. Toronto & District and other Square & Round Dance Associations have selected all as Rounds Of The Month.
The second weekend in June is set aside for their Annual Camp-N-Dance Weekend at Memorial Park, in Meaford, Ontario.
In 1987 & 2005 they hosted a Square & Round Dance tour to Hawaii, and in February 2000 a Southern Caribbean Cruise. All 3 tours included calling and dancing.
In February 2005 they received the "Trillium Merit Award".
Dean is an Accredited Callerlab Associate member. Callerlab Mainstream & Plus Committee member and calls and teaches the Callerlab programs from Basics to A2.
Dean & Ethel are members of the Toronto & District Square & Round Dance Association and have recently held the positions of Workshop Coordinators, Convention Chair-couple, Vice Presidents, and Presidents from 2000/2002.
Dean & Ethel are available to call for Club Specials, Camp-N-Dance Weekends, Festivals and look forward to calling for you and your clubs special dances.
